Happy New Year from Sistersinsound!

Aloha, and Happy New Year!

The five busy ladies of SIS are all looking forward to happy and successful 2008!

Instead of a “year in review”, we’re doing a little update from the branches of the SIS clan.

Marloca in the snowHello and long time no talk! I hope everyone had a great 2007 and will be able to ring in 2008 with something special! I am not really sure what I’m up to for New Year’s. To be honest, the time period that New Year’s Eve falls in is my resting time between my Christmas family reunion/vacation in Las Vegas and my early January excursion back to Hawaii! However,
since NYE is not typically a time of rest, I’m still looking for the perfect outing. The best scenario is of course a house party with good friends and great music but so far, I don’t know of any. As for big events, they are usually too expensive for me but there is one at this club, Subterranean, that I have my eye on. It’s less than $50, has an open bar and has some good DJs that are bound to play some fun stuff and warp the mind in a good way. We’ll see
though. There’s a certain amount of compromising I have to do with being fricken cold, broke, married and between two vacations. Wish me luck! As usual, have fun and be safe! I hope to see you soon!

Happy Holidays to all!! It’s been a relatively wet winter so far on the island (or maybe just in Palolo), so the Chia has been hiding out and hibernatin. As for New Year’s Eve, it’s still up in the air, but most likely our household (DJ Seeko, DJ K-ing, myself, Zhora and Sassy) will be holding our traditional “respite” for all our club hoppin friends with an afterhour shindig at our house. No strangers, but just a few of our closest, but pooped out, danced out party folks that just wanna take the edge off with some mellow vibe!

I hope all of you have a safe and bumpin New Years!!!!!

Hugs and dances,
DJ Chia

We’ll catch up with the rest of the Sisters in Sound, Zita, Toki, and Ms.Angel in our next post, and find out what their New Years look like.

So, what do you have planned for New Years? Let us know! Drop us an email.

SIS and Family at Indigo - Good to See You There!

Sisters in Sound @ Indigo 8.11.07

On Saturday, August 11th, four of the five Sisters in Sound (we love you Marloca!) descended on Indigo restaurant, ready to throw down and get down. Thank you to everyone who made it out! It was really good to see all of your smiling faces, diggin’ the music and diggin’ the vibe. Special thanks goes to Jason Silingo for use of our old haunt - the martinis are still as awesome as they ever were!

Please check out the photos from this event. If you have some photos from the night that you would like to add, please send them to us, and we will be happy to add them to the collection.

We also want to thank So Necessary and quadmag for writing up this party. Both sites/blogs are great resources for nightlife and goings-on in Honolulu, so if you haven’t already, check ‘em out!

Sisters in Sound are still out and about! You can catch Toki every Saturday at Electrolyfe, and Ms.Angel every Thursday on The So Very Show. If you’re in the Bay Area, you’ve got plenty of chances to catch DJ Zita at her residencies around town. For more info on where and when to catch the Sisters in Sound spinning in Honolulu and San Francisco, visit our events page.
